Netherton Syndrome
Netherton Syndrome - Netherton syndrome is caused by mutations in SPINK5 and is characterized by severe dermatitis (icthyosis), erythroderma, bamboo hair, and immunodeficiency (hypogammaglobulinemia and specific antibody deficiency). Staphylococcal skin infections and upper respiratory infections are common. Allergic disease occurs at high frequency and includes allergic rhinitis, asthma, and food allergy.
